Legal
Terms and Conditions
The agreement between you and KikFriendz. In short: you must be 18 or older, post only your own Kik username, follow the acceptable-use rules, and understand that everything you post is public.
Who we are
KikFriendz (kikfriendz.com) is a directory where adults post their Kik Messenger username so other people can contact them on Kik. The service is operated under the name KikFriendz; you can reach us, including for any legal or official matter, via the contact form.
KikFriendz is an independent site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Kik Messenger or its owner, MediaLab AI, Inc. Kik® is a trademark of its owner, used here only to refer to the messenger service.
Accepting these terms
By browsing KikFriendz you agree to use it under these terms. By creating an account (confirmed by ticking the acceptance checkbox) you enter a contract with us on these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
The Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data. It is a notice, not part of this contract, and it applies whether or not you have an account.
Persons under 18 are not permitted to use the site or register. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed.
To post a profile you must:
- post only a Kik username that is genuinely yours;
- give accurate information (including your real age) and keep it accurate;
- maintain no more than one active profile.
The service
KikFriendz is free. We publish your profile in the directory for visitors to browse; you can edit, bump and delete it at any time. Your profile photo is retrieved from your public Kik profile using the username you provide; the photo must comply with the Acceptable use rules. Conversations themselves happen on Kik, outside this site.
We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the service (or the whole service). Where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice when practical. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, that your profile will appear in any particular position, or that you will receive messages.
Your content and license
You own what you post. To enable the service to operate, you grant KikFriendz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, technically adapt (for example resizing images), publish, publicly display and distribute your profile content (username, age, gender, country, bio, photo) for the purposes of operating, improving and promoting the service. Your profile is public: it may be cached by content-delivery infrastructure and indexed by search engines.
The license ends when you delete your profile or a piece of content, except that (a) cached and backup copies may persist briefly until they expire, and (b) we may retain records connected to rule enforcement, safety or legal obligations, as described in the Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have the rights to everything you post, including the photo on your Kik profile.
Acceptable use
KikFriendz is a site for finding chat friends; it is not an adult-content site. By posting a profile you agree not to post or do any of the following:
- Sexual or sexually suggestive content, including innuendo and coded language, fetish/kink solicitation, or requests to trade pictures;
- Selling or advertising anything: paid content or "premium" offers, camming, sugar arrangements, escort or similar services, or promoting other websites, apps or social platforms;
- Anything involving minors: do not misrepresent your age or hint at being underage, and do not seek contact with minors; such accounts are removed and may be reported to authorities;
- Harassment, threats, hate speech or content that is defamatory or invades others' privacy;
- Illegal content or activity, including drugs, weapons, fraud, or content promoting violence or self-harm;
- Spam and deception: bulk or automated account creation, bots, fake or impersonating profiles, posting someone else's Kik username, or misleading links;
- Technical abuse: scraping or bulk-collecting profiles, probing or disrupting the service, or attempting to bypass rate limits, bans, or our screening and verification systems, including signing up through proxies, VPNs or other anonymizing networks, which may be blocked;
- Misusing reports by knowingly filing false ones.
Moderation and enforcement
We moderate the directory to keep it safe and lawful. Moderation combines automated systems, including AI, with human review by our staff. The automated systems screen profile text, usernames, photos, reports and network signals at signup, on edits, and on an ongoing basis; our staff make the final decision in escalated cases. The detailed signals and thresholds are deliberately not published, because disclosing them would help spammers and abusers evade them.
When we believe a rule has been broken, we may remove or reject content, hide the profile from the directory, restrict features (such as bumping), suspend or permanently ban the account, and block associated network addresses. Where necessary for safety, fraud prevention or legal reasons, we do so without prior notice. Repeated or serious violations lead to permanent removal.
If you believe a decision is incorrect, contact us within a reasonable time. A member of our staff will review the decision and respond. This is also the channel for any complaint about moderation.
Reporting a profile
Every profile has a Report link. Use it to flag rule violations, including suspected under-18 users, with a short description. Reports are reviewed through the moderation process above; we do not promise a particular outcome, but every report is processed.
Your account
- You are responsible for your password and for what happens through your account; choose a strong one and do not share it.
- Profiles are published after you verify your email address. Accounts that never verify are not published; they expire 24 hours after signup and are deleted automatically.
- You may bump your profile to the top of the feed once every 24 hours.
- You may delete your profile at any time from the account menu. Deletion is permanent; the same username can be posted again after a 24-hour cooldown.
- Accounts that haven't been used for more than 24 months are deleted, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, as described under Moderation and enforcement. If your account is banned, you may not create a new one.
Your safety
KikFriendz only publishes usernames; conversations happen on Kik. We do not see, monitor or moderate those conversations, and we cannot verify who is behind any profile beyond the screening described above. You alone decide whom to talk to and what to share. Exercise caution with personal information, treat requests for money or pictures with suspicion, and report suspicious profiles both to us and within Kik itself.
Third-party services and links
Kik Messenger is a separate service with its own terms and privacy policy, which govern everything you do there. Where the site links to external websites or services, we do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
Disclaimers
KikFriendz is provided "as is" and "as available", free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose, and no guarantee about the identity, age, conduct or intentions of any user beyond the moderation efforts these terms describe.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, KikFriendz is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data or profits, or damage arising from your interactions with other users on or off the site; for a free service, our total liability for any claim is limited to $50 (or the equivalent in your currency), except where mandatory law requires more.
These limits apply only where the law allows them, and do not cover intentional or grossly negligent conduct, or personal injury caused by our negligence.
You are responsible for the content you post and your use of the site; if your unlawful use of the service causes claims against us, you agree to compensate our reasonable resulting costs.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service and the law evolve. The current version, its number and its effective date are always shown at the top of this page; for material changes we will show a notice on the site before they take effect. Using the site after the effective date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, delete your profile and stop using the site.
Disputes
If a problem arises, contact us first; most issues are resolved quickly that way.
General
If part of these terms proves unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These terms are the whole agreement between you and KikFriendz about the site. The site's name, design and software remain KikFriendz's property; these terms give you no rights in them beyond normal use of the site. You may not transfer your account or this agreement to anyone else; we may transfer the service and this agreement to a successor operator, as described in the Privacy Policy. A delay in enforcing a rule does not waive it.
